Our Accommodation
As we are a registered mobile provision this allows us a lot of flexibility when delivering our individual care packages and programmes. No young person would remain in the same accommodation for the full 17 week placement unless it was agreed at point of referral.
The accommodation being used would depend on what the young person was doing in the programme.
As all placements are single occupancy we ensure that the locations we use are fairly remote and are spread around Cumbria and the North West.
Here are some examples of accommodation young people could stay at whilst placed.
Canal Barge
Wilderness Experiences own a 60ft narrow boat located on the Lancaster Canal. During their stay, young people would typically run a 5 day trip on the narrow boat up and down the canal learning how to steer and sail the barge along with helping with the locks. This is a great tool for assisting young people to work together to achieve a common goal. Generally speaking this is a popular aspect of what we can offer young people.
